FINE CARVED IVORY FIGURAL GROUP. 19th century, possibly Japan. Depicting a skeleton wielding a metal flame bladed sword with lizard, vulture and serpent on his body standing amidst a cluster of animals including rats, frogs, lizards and scorpion. All mounted on an oval hard wood stand. SIZE: 6″ h. CONDITION: With natural fissures and vertical hairline shrinkage cracks. Mellow patina. Very good overall. 9-29808 (800-1,200)
