WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION MUSKET. Cal. 44-40. SN 370932. Standard musket with 30″ bbl, square base front sight/bayonet lug and 900-yard ladder rear sight. Wood is American walnut with full-length forearm & straight stock with musket buttplate with trap. Accompanied by an orig socket bayonet without scabbard. CONDITION: About good. No orig finish remains with the metal being a plumy/brown patina with scattered spots of very light pitting. Wood is sound, dark & oil stained, with what appears to be a name scratched on the right side of the buttstock and a series of deep bruises on the left side. Forestock is also worn & dinged with a couple of deep gouges and overall the wood retains a dark hand rubbed patina. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bore with some crud in the grooves that may clean. Bayonet has a smooth light brown patina with some light pitting on the inside of the blade.
