SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 32 WCF (32-20). SN 126592. Standard grade rifle with 24-1/4″ oct bbl, button magazine, half nickel front sight & semi-buckhorn rear sight. Rear seat in the bbl has possibly been altered, as there is a shim around the sight dovetail. Wood is nicely figured American walnut, uncheckered, with straight stock & crescent buttplate without trap. CONDITION: Very good plus. Bbl retains 75-80% orig blue turning plum and the receiver appears to be mostly a plum brown patina. Lever & hammer retain 60-70% faded case colors. Entire rifle has a heavy coating of old dried oil or wax. Wood is sound with light nicks & dings and an area of paint speckles on the toe and retains an even hand rubbed patina. Right side of the receiver, behind the sideplate, has a series of small dings. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. Pierre Renaud Collection 4-55645 JR245 (1,250-1,750)
