VICTORIAN BLACK FOREST STICK BAROMETER RETAILED BY OELSCHLAEGER BROTHERS, NEW YORK. Third quarter 19th century. The barometric tube mounted within a carved walnut case fashioned in the form of a stylized tree trunk. The milk glass barometric scale at the top of the barometer inscribed “BAROMETER./Oelschlaeger Bros./No 169 William Street/New York”. The center of the tree trunk mounted with a glass tubed thermometer attached to a milk glass gauge. SIZE: 45-1/2″ l. PROVENANCE: Dr. Charles Bradley, Lubbock, TX. CONDITION: The case structurally very good with original surfaces. Original glass tube remains intact. Overall very good. 9-21227 (700-900)
