RARE QUIMBY PERCUSSION HALF STOCK SPORTING RIFLE. Cal. 38. SN 27-1/4” octagonal bbl, marked “QUIMBY / NORTHFIELD VT. WARRANTED GAIN TWIST” Dennis Quimby worked in Northfield from 1864 to 1871. The ramrod and tang sight are replacements. CONDITION: Rust/brown patina overall. Some fill ahead of the lock plate and a repair to the rear of the lock plate. Also some minor cracks on the wood. Action is good. 4-52496 FS21 (1,000-1,500)
