I ALWAYS DID ‘SPISE A MULE TOY. By today’s standard, this toy would not be politically correct, but during the time period of the 1890’s, the political and ethnic slurs were imitated and copied into toys. This toy features a black youth upon a mule. When the lever is pressed, the mule bucks sending the black youth “head over heels”. The intense detailing and painting of the base, mule, and rider make this a visually striking toy. SIZE: 9 1/2″. CONDITION: With the exception of light soiling to boy, condition is very good to near mint. JL 1-3811 (900-1,100)
