COLT ETCHED PANEL FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 90290. Blue and case colored with 7-1/2″ bbl, one line block letter address with orig front sight and 1-pc walnut grip. It has three line patent dates and is marked “44.C.F.” on the left front web of the trigger guard and it has a tiny 44 on the bottom of the bbl just in front of the base pin. CONDITION: Fine plus. All matching numbers including the bbl & cylinder. Bbl retains 30-40% orig blue, glossy & bright in the sheltered areas with the balance flaked to medium patina with one small area of pitting on the left side. Etched panel is completely legible. Ejector rod housing retains 65-70% orig blue, strong in the gullets, thin on the outside edge. Cylinder is a blue/gray patina. Frame retains 15-20% faded case colors with the balance a silver/brown patina. Hammer retains about 75% orig case colors, bright on the sides, dark on the rear edge and turned to patina on the top edge. Trigger guard retains 60-70% thin blue while the back strap & butt strap retain 75-80% blue thin on the back strap, strong & bright on the butt strap. Grip is sound with very minor edge wear and a few minor handling marks and retains 96-97% bright orig varnish. Crisp mechanics. Bright shiny bore with two or three small spots of pitting near the muzzle. 4-58139 JR324 (12,500-17,500)
