RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 Short. SN 186416. Rare 22 cal rifle with 24-1/4″ rnd bbl, full magazine, half nickel front sight & early style semi-buckhorn rear sight with checkered edges. It has straight grain American walnut wood with straight stock & crescent buttplate without trap. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 75-80% orig blue under a heavy coating of old dried oil. Outside magazine tube was cleaned to bright a long time ago. Inside magazine tube appears to be complete, orig & functional. Receiver retains 70-75% orig blue turning plum, also with a very heavy coating of old dried oil. Wood is sound with usual light nicks, dings & scratches and retains about 50% orig finish with dark stains around the wrist, also with a heavy coating of old dried oil. Mechanics are fine, the dust cover screw & opening block are missing. Strong bright bore that needs cleaning. Pierre Renaud Collection 4-55647 JR243 (3,000-5,000)
