RARE CONFEDERATE RETRACTABLE PIKE. Wood body with brass and iron ferrules and caps. Polearm is original and correct, missing one screw in each end cap. Remnants of an old paper tag are indiscernible. Reference: “AMERICAN POLE ARMS” by Rodney Hilton Brown. “CONFEDERATE ARMS” by William A. Albaugh III. CONDITION: Old minor worm damage to wood sheath. Blade is average for this pattern showing some original shine, light pitting. 1/2” chip to blade. Spring catch has been moved 1-1/2”. Old screw holes from catch where originally located, still present. Screw in brass ferrule has been replaced. 4-48836 JS11 (2,500-3,500)
