*DELUXE WINCHESTER MODEL 71 CARBINE. Cal. 348. SN 14202. Early style carbine with fine checkering and long tang. It has 20″ tapered rnd bbl, ramp front sight with hood and standard rear sight. Wood is nicely figured American walnut with checkered semi-beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. Forend cap & buttstock have deluxe swivel bases. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbl & magazine tube retain about 95% strong orig blue with light muzzle edge wear & a couple of small scratches. Receiver retains 93-95% strong orig blue, flaked on the bottom with edge wear. Lever retains about 50% blue. Wood is sound showing moderate wear on the checkering with a bruise & scratches on the forearm and a long shallow gouge on the buttstock. Overall retains about 90% orig varnish.
