WINCHESTER DELUXE MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 50 Ex (50-110). SN 93906. Scarce ’86 in a rare caliber with 26″ oct bbl, full magazine, Lyman front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. Wood is beautiful 3-4X center crotch cut sunburst American walnut with “H” style checkered forearm and serpentine shaped pistol grip with black insert and crescent buttplate. A Winchester Gun Museum letter fully identifying this rifle and indicating that it was shipped with a Lyman hunting front sight and a Lyman rear sight with disc. It also states that the drop (of the stock) was to be 4″. This is a rare feature, especially for such a large caliber and remains a 4″ drop. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains a medium plum/brown patina with some spots of light discoloration and a few small nicks and scratches. Magazine tube retains about 90% thinning blue/brown patina. Receiver is mostly a dark gray patina with traces of silvered case colors. Lever, hammer & buttplate are mostly a blue/brown patina. Wood is sound and retains about all of an extremely fine professionally restored finish. Mechanics are crisp, strong bright bore with some scattered spots of light pitting. A fine, rare “Big Bore” ’86. 4-53737 JR765 (17,500-27,500)
