THEODORE BAUR “1835-1894” THE CHARGING BUFFALO. Second half 19th century. Signed in script “Theo Baur” under the right rear haunch, with no apparent foundry mark, this realistic rendition depicting a buffalo with lowered head, preparing to charge. SIZE: Buffalo measures 10 1/2″ high, 17 3/4″ in length and the plinth measures 3/4″ high, 15″ in length, width 6 1/2″ CONDITION: With original surfaces and fine gold-brown patina, mounted on an original green marble plinth.
