GREG KELSEY (American, 1971-) “GET OFF MY BACK”. Large bronze sculpture shows a bronco buster atop a stallion on a wild ride. One arm is outstretched with hat while the other holds the reins for dear life. The stallion is set atop a naturalistic high mount which is attached to a round marble disc which is part of a rotating two-part walnut base having brass plaque. Brown patina. Inscribed on the back of the bronze “Gregory Kelsey 2001 11/25”. Kelsey was raised in the southwest in a ranching family and turned to sculpture and art shortly after attending art school. SIZE: Bronze including marble: 29-1/2″ h; With wood base 33″ h x 16″ at widest. PROVENANCE: From a private New Hampshire collector. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 9-95349 (3,000-5,000)
