STORY TWO-PIN HALF STOCK RIFLE. CAL. 45. 32” octagonal bbl with bullet starter, marked “W. STORY” on lock and bbl with the address “WINDSOR VT.” only on the bbl. Pictured in Vermont’s Gunsmiths and Gunmakers, pg 236. There is nice engraving on the bbl tang, patchbox, triggerguard and other German silver pieces. The lockplate and rear of bbl have the more normal Windsor light scroll engraving. The hammer is a replacement. The triggerguard has a brazed repair. CONDITION: Very good. Brown patina on the bbl, pitted at the rear but with finish showing ahead of the forearm. Stock is cracked at both ends of the triggerguard with some refinish. Flash plate under the drum has been replaced. Action is good. 4-52663 FS160 (1,500-2,500)
