RARE ANSONIA NO. 11 PINWHEEL JEWELER’S REGULATOR. Circa 1880. The carved walnut Renaissance Revival case with arched molded cornice surmounted by a shell crest centering a female classical head. The rectangular glass paneled door with arched molded top flanked by scrolled volutes, all on a molded box base mounted with burled panels. The silvered dial with sweep seconds hand and Roman Numeral chapter ring. The eight-day time only movement driven by a single weight and fitted to a three jar faceted pendulum. Door key, winder, pendulum & single weight present. Literature: Catalog facsimile illustrated in “Longcase Clocks and Standing Regulators, Part One” by Tran Duy Ly. Page 23, fig. 17, 1880 catalog. Also, “Ansonia Clocks by Tran Duy Ly, page 279, fig. 1395, 1883 catalog. SIZE: 9’3″ h x 37″ w x 14-1/2” d. PROVENANCE: Dr. Charles Bradley, Lubbock, TX. CONDITION: Case professionally polished.
