HARRIET WHITNEY FRISHMUTH (American, 1880-1980) “THE STAR”. Outstanding bronze sculpture modled in 1918 and numbered “256” of an edition of 345.The edge marked “Gorham Co Founders O 505 #256”. The top of the base marked “Harriet W Frishmuth 1918″. Nice green to brown patina bronze depicts a standing nude woman with left arm and hand reaching straight up with her head gazing up with other arm and hand to the side. Bottom mounted to a square black marble base. A wonderful example of a period Frishmuth bronze. SIZE: Bronze: 19-1/4″. Overall: 20”. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 9-97455 (5,000-8,000)
