SMITH & WESSON 3RD MODEL RUSSIAN REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. SN 49812. Nickel finish, 6-1/2″ keyhole bbl with standard English markings. Front sight has been modified with a target sight added. It has the finger rest trigger guard & smooth 2-pc walnut grips numbered to the frame & a lanyard loop in the butt. It has the date “1874” adjacent to the serial number along with a small “P” proof on the toe. CONDITION: Very fine, as noted. Overall retains about 95% strong orig nickel with light surface scratches & mars and some minor spotting behind the left recoil shield, on the sideplate and a couple of spots in the bbl gullet. Grips are a fine oiled patina with a stress crack on the inside of the left grip. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-56406 JR384 (1,750-2,750)
