VERY RARE MORSE 1ST MODEL CARBINE. SN 181. This very desirable 1st Model carbine is with a solid brass latch. Latches on these guns are quite often cracked or broken and repaired, this latch is perfect. Gun appears all original and authentic in all regards. External SN occurs on frame and inside latch. A cryptic “T” is stamped in buttstock, next to trigger guard. Less than 200 of these were made. CONDITION: Bore is fine. Slight reduction of wood to forend at nose cap. Gun shows honest use and saddle wear. This all original rare 1st Model is in especially good condition for a Confederate Morse carbine and would be a difficult one to upgrade. 4-48653 JS26 (25,000-30,000)
