EARLY STEIFF BEAR WITH LARGE SHOE BUTTON EYES. Pre WWI teddy lacking button in ear with black stitched nose, mouth and paws, original felt pads, jointed at neck, shoulders and hips, with long extended arms and pronounced hump on back. Includes family provenance. SIZE: 16″ (41cm). CONDITION: Considerable surface dirt, wear on snout, around eyes and on lower back of left leg. There has been an old sewing repair in middle of back of left leg, sawdust stuffing has shifted especially at top of arms and top of legs. 1-7832 RS (2,750-3,750)
