1ST MODEL AMERICAN SMITH & WESSON REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. SN 28906. Blue finish, 8″ key hole bbl, fixed sights. Grips are numbered “2896”, apparently the assembler’s mistake. CONDITION: Very good to fine. All matching with assembly numbers “917”. Overall retains 10-15% orig blue in the very sheltered areas with some scattered fine pitting on the left side of the bbl & back strap. Grips show heavy wear with chipped toes and retain a fine smooth patina. Mechanics are fine, strong bore with some shine & moderate pitting. 4-56404 JR377 (2,000-3,000)
