SMITH & NIXON MAHOGANY GRAND PIANO CINCINNATI OHIO. First half 20th century. Serial number 19533, this mahogany grand piano now fitted with a “Pianodisc” made by Music Systems Research Sacramento California Model “PDS-128”. Note many of these pianos were also manufactured by a division of the Goldsmith Piano Co of Chicago Illinois. Of typical form the fallboard marked in paint “SMITH & NIXON/CINCINNATI”. The molded case with anthemion leaves, raised on square tapered legs headed with applied leafy sprays, raised on casters. Accompanied by a collection of 34 discs, catalogs, and remote control. Sold with a matching bench. SIZE: 39″ h x 74″ l x 61″ w. PROVENANCE: Collection of Elwyn Dearborn, Medford, NJ & Portland, ME. CONDITION: The well figured case refinished and restored in a light honey color.
