PAIR OF CAPO DI MONTE EWERS. 2nd half 19th Century. These fine examples modeled with “S” scrolled handles in the form of winged mythical maidens, the spout in the form of a mythical fish. The bodies, each with a stylized memorial crest flanked by cartouches modeled with nude maidens raised on shaped pedestals molded with masks and busts of maidens. Each on a square plinth gilt decorated with scrolling leaf tips. Each marked beneath the base in under glaze blue with a “N” beneath a crown. SIZE: 17-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Each having a small area of minor wear to gold gilt, otherwise very good. 9-97074 (800-1,200)
