AMERICAN CAST-BRONZE DISPLAYED EAGLE. Late 19th early 20th century. This fine architectural example, possibly from a public or government building, cast in four sections depicting a well reticulated displayed eagle mounted on perch resembling turned acorns or pine cones, the head turned sideways with semi-opened beak, the wings backswept. The wings, cast separately joined to the body by pins, the spread tail similarly joined to the body. Beneath the tail is stamped the identification number “C. 10-A. 106”. The tops of the wings appear cast with an egg form reinforcement, the underside of the perch, plaster filled, and fitted for mounting. SIZE: 24″h x 25″w x 16″d. CONDITION: This nice example with original surfaces and very good patina cast with very good details. 9-97416 (1,500-2,500)
