REMINGTON LEE NAVY BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. SN 50369. Model 1885 Navy contract, one of about 1,500, with 32-1/2″ rnd bbl, square base front sight with sheet metal sight protector. It has 1,200-yard ski jump rear sight and standard Navy markings over the receiver ring, with usual markings & serial number on the receiver. It is mounted in a very nicely figured full length 1-pc. walnut stock with smooth musket buttplate. Magazine is of the 2-groove type and it is accompanied by a “1918” dated leather military sling. CONDITION: Fine plus. Metal is mostly a dark blue/brown patina with the receiver being mostly a mottled light brown patina. Stock is sound with usual handling & use marks and a fine old patina.
