WINCHESTER HOTCHKISS 1ST MODEL SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 45-70. SN 262. Standard carbine with 22″ rnd bbl, square base front sight & ski jump ladder rear sight marked with an “R”. It has usual markings on the left side of the receiver and is mounted in a 1-pc. walnut stock with sngl band and saddle ring in the left side. It has nickeled brass hinged forend tip containing two sections of a steel wiping rod. Entire rifle has a coating of old dried oil or wax. CONDITION: Very fine. As completely & professionally restored, retaining virtually all of this fine finish to both metal & wood with a few nicks & dings in the stock.
