SETH THOMAS “PARLOR” #1 CALENDAR CLOCK. Last quarter of the 19th Century. The rosewood case with arched concave molded cornice. Upper dial with Roman Numeral chapter ring, time and strike apertures, above the calendar dial with Arabic numeral chapter ring, day and date apertures. Retaining original label on reverse of door. On a molded plinth. With an 8-day weight driven movement with strike. There are two “Parlor” Calendar No. 1 models, this model with larger dials and no dividing panel. Patent date of 1876 on lower dial. Pendulum and two weights present, no key. SIZE: 33″ h x 17″ w x 5″ d. PROVENANCE: Dr. Charles Bradley, Lubbock, TX. CONDITION: Both dials with old restoration. Rosewood case having some veneer work, lower hand broken. 9-21082 (700-900)
