UNUSUAL ORIENTAL CARVED HARDWOOD ARMCHAIR. Last quarter 19th century. Curved crest rail terminating with floral carved sprays and centered by a fanciful foo dog bust joined to the conforming curved back, deeply carved overall with water lilies and other aquatic plant life, interspersed with koi. The shaped arms depicting carved dragons with water geyser support centering a plank seat carved with cloudbands, raised on cabriole legs carved with fanciful foo dogs and leaftips and ending in scrolled snail feet. SIZE: 57-1/2″ h of back, 18-1/2″ h of seat, 32″ w overall. CONDITION: Overall good condition with original finish, minor repairs and restoration throughout. 9-95818 (1,000-1,500)
