MODIFIED SPRINGFIELD SECOND ALLIN CONVERSION RIFLE. Cal. 50-70. 20” rnd bbl. There are 22 brass tacks in the left cheek of the stock. There is also a large copper patch on the bottom of the forearm attached with one screw and one nail. The trigger guard has been stretched to accommodate the dbl set triggers. The stock and bbl were cut to the current length and large dovetails cut for the sights. The large butthorn sight remains but the front sight is missing. The stock has been modified at the butt to take a brass crescent buttplate. Many initials have been carved in the wood. There is an area of very heavy wear on the right side of the forearm between the lockplate and the bbl band. This might have been carved as none of the other wood appears to be effected but it is now smooth. CONDITION: Gray/brown patina overall. Stock is battered and worn as modified.
