MEISSEN FIGURAL SWEET MEAT DISH. Second half 19th century. This nicely modeled example depicting a semi-nude woman with gold necklace and classical attire reclining beside a scalloped dish on a shaped foliate plinth. The whole painted in under-glazed blue and gilt decorated. Marked beneath with under-glazed blue crossed swords and incised “78. No: 2858“. SIZE: Ht 7 1/4″; Overall length 12” CONDITION: Appears to be in very good condition. Area of hair at front of head with either over-paint or paint spill. 9-96599 (800-1,200)
