MODERN DAY REMINGTON NO. 1 ROLLING BLOCK FACTORY CUTAWAY. Cal. 45-70. SN 0335 or NO 6. When Remington resumed production of the Rolling Block rifle they made up six of these salesman demonstrator cutaways for sale to the Remington Society of America. Consignor had loaned them his orig cutaway, being sold elsewhere in this auction, as a sample to copy. It is a precise reproduction with the addition of having the sides of bbl cut away. It also has the pivot pins reversed & the retainer plate & screw moved to right side. It is finished in the “white”. Accompanied by a Remington factory letter identifying this item as factory original, one of only six made in 2002. Also accompanied by the orig box label identifying this item as serial “No. 6” and it states that it is a “museum piece only”. CONDITION: Crisp, new.
