E HOWARD #8 FIGURE-8 REGULATOR. Third quarter of the 19th Century. The walnut case of typical form with proper replacement tablets. Works marked “E. Howard Co., Boston”. Eight-day weight driven time piece with recoil escapement. Hand painted dial with Roman Numeral chapter ring marked “E. Howard & Co., Boston”, probably original. Engraved pendulum, also original. Pendulum & weight present, no key. SIZE: 44-1/2″ l x 14-3/4″ w x 5-3/4″ d. CONDITION: Case retains original finish, now rubbed down and oiled. Replaced weight, hands and inner dial mounting board. 9-21170 (11,000-15,000)
