*WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 SADDLE RING CARBINE.

*WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 30 Army (30-40). SN 402304. Standard carbine with 22″ rnd bbl, pedestal front sight and 3,200-yard ladder rear sight. Receiver is after-market mounted with a Lyman Model 21 receiver sight that was intended for a Model 94. Saddle ring has been removed & someone has attempted to drill out the stud. It has straight grain walnut with grasping groove forearm with band and a hand guard for what is probably a Mauser rifle. It has straight stock with carbine buttplate with trap. Entire rifle has a heavy coating of old dried oil or wax. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl retains about 95% orig blue. Receiver is mostly a mottled blue/brown patina with traces of orig blue. Wood is sound with usual handling & use marks & retains most of an old restored finish. Mechanics are fine, strong bore, dark in the grooves. Pierre Renaud Collection 4-55679 JR306 (1,250-1,750)
