TWO PART JAPANNED QUEEN ANNE BONNET TOP HIGHBOY. Top section with open arched top having partial bonnet top. Central fan carved drawer with shaped drawer on each side over four graduated drawers. Central carved drawer bottom is signed “Poole” in red paint. This is presumably the artist that decorated the piece. Bottom section has central drawer with square drawers on each side. Carved skirt with well formed cabriole legs ending in pad feet. Square drawer has writing on side of drawer which appears to say “John L. Barker?, Sept. 9th 1838, Joseph M. Barker Sept. 9th 1838, Lincoln Mass. SIZE: 75″ h, (top case) 35 1/4″w x 18″ d, (bottom case) 38″ w x 19” d. CONDITION: Some old repairs, presently has no brasses, japanning possibly a later decoration. 9-91809 (10,000-15,000)
