TWO HANDLED FOOTED BOWL BY ARTHUR STONE, GARDNER, MASSACHUSETTS. Early mark with “L” representing Lamphrey, 1908-1911. A fine engraved dedication under the rim indicates the piece to have been a silver anniversary gift from the family of Hollis French who died during this year. French, a connoisseur and author on books on old silver, actually helped Stone design a chafing dish for the French’s own 25th wedding anniversary in 1921. WEIGHT: 9 tr. oz. SIZE: 4-1/4” h x 7-1/2” w. CONDITION: Very good. 9-73852 (300-500)
