CHINESE OVIFORM STORAGE JAR IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE. With elements of Ming and Kangxi. Decorated with ‘Three Friends’ and other figures amidst bamboo, water fronds, and other flowering plants with scrolling cloud bands. Centered by bands of Ming-style scrolling foliate vinery, leaves, and whorl patterns, all on an ice-crackle ground. The shoulders applied with four molded animal masks. SIZE: 18-1/2″ h. CONDITION: The rim with several chips, roughness to base rim, and spots of glazing loss around midpoint of body. Otherwise very good condition. 9-92251 (1,000-2,000)
