COIN OPERATED DICE POPPER/CIGAR CUTTER. An exceedingly rare gambling machine from the turn of the century, this device was made by J. J. Oaks & Son of Reading, PA. Only 3 or 4 of these machines are known to exist and it is believed that this is the only one with the original coin-trap door! Upon depositing a coin, one would place their cigar tip in the hole at the top and while turning the knob, the tip would be cut and the dice would pop. Most likely there would have been a paper tag indicating the award for the combination of points on the three dice. Finished in copper oxide and intricately cast iron sides make this a most appealing machine. SIZE: 7-1/2″ w, 7-1/2″ d x 16″ t. CONDITION: Very fine to near mint. 8-76230 JL (6,000-8,000)
