REMINGTON SWEDISH CONTRACT ROLLING BLOCK RIFLE. SN 12758. 12.7mmx 44R CF Cal. 37-1/2” rnd bbl. The serial number is stamped on the stock, forearm, bbl, buttplate, and bbl bands. The ramrod is numbered 10B3K143. The issue disk only has a single R. The 2-line marking on the upper tang only has the 1864 and 1865 patent dates. The 18-1/2” cruxiform bayonet has numerous markings including a serial number 16292 and issue marks “12R.7K. / No 139”. This is a socket bayonet and the bbl has a sword bayonet lug on the right side. Various inspector and acceptance marks appear on different parts. CONDITION: About good. Half of the casehardening colors showing on the sides of the action, turning dark on the triggerguard. Bbl has half of the blue mixed with light surface rust and pitting. Wood has a light, clean appearance, but the numbers are still sharp. Bayonet has been cleaned to white. Bore is lightly pitted in the grooves. Action is tight. 4-60175 FS646 (1,250-1,850)
