EXTREMELY RARE 18TH GEORGIA CONFEDERATE OFFICERS KEPI. This deep blue velvet kepi with ghost of “18 over GA.” was probably worn by Second Lieutenant. Has three strands of bullion around the base is a single bullion quatrefoil on top and beneath the quatrefoil is the ghost “18 over GA.” which represents the 18th Georgia Regiment. The interior of the hat is lined with silk and backed with an old Confederate playbill and newspaper dated 1861. This hat is one of only two or three known to exist and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted expert Les Jensen and noted textile authority Fonda Thomsen.
