KENDALL UNDERHAMMER RIFLE.

KENDALL UNDERHAMMER RIFLE. CAL. 20. SN: 6520. 31” part octagonal bbl, marked “N. KENDALL / WINDSOR VT”, “LANE & READ / AGENTS, / BOSTON” on top of the bbl, “CLARK/ .. NKIN” on the right upper flat of the bbl and “SMITH’S / IMPROVED / PATENT / STUD / LOCK” on the bbl tang. The bbl makers Clark and Rankin have not been located. This rifle is fancier than normal with engraving on the bbl as well as the action. The original rifle bbl has been bored smooth and a new sight placed forward of the octagonal section. The ramrod pipes have all been resoldered. The trigger is a replacement. CONDITION: Bbl has been cleaned and has formed new rust. Stock has been repaired at the front end and refinished. Inlay in the left side of the stock is missing. 4-52829 FS145 (800-1,100)
