RARE FRAMED NORTH CAROLINA RALEIGH DEPOT MANUFACTURED CONFEDERATE FLAG. This excellent genuine and original Confederate flag is of hand sewn construction. Colors are still strong and vivid with red canton having turned toward pink. An old brown ink tag with the flag indicates that the flag was captured during the Civil War. The tag says “Flag of North Carolina 1861, captured in the Civil War”. The flag is very aesthetically pleasing and is archivally framed. It is guaranteed to be a period genuine Confederate flag and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted flag expert Howard Madaus. Only a few North Carolina associated Confederate flags are privately owned and this is a very good example. SIZE: Including frame 22” high x 34” long. CONDITION: Red has slightly faded to a pinkish salmon color. Structurally the flag is in outstanding condition; only a couple small and minor moth damages appear. 4-48650 JS49 (20,000-25,000)
