RARE EARLY STEIFF “CONE” BEAR. Pre-WWI Steiff teddy with long arms, humped back and retaining original paw pads. The growling mechanism is still in the stomach, but not currently operational. He has faded somewhat to a golden color, but can see in the creases that he was once a cinnamon or apricot color. SIZE: 20-1/2″ (52 cm) CONDITION: Overall good. Nose is worn, and most of stitching is missing. Mouth most likely restitched. Mohair sparse in places, particularly in center of stomach (slight pinprick hole in stomach), under left arm on body, and on outer side of left foot.
