17″, (43 CM), EARLY FRENCH FASHION DOLL IN THE BARROIS MANNER. Unmarked pale bisque shoulder head with cobalt blue eyes, closed mouth with gently shaded lips, feathered eyebrows, mounted on a white leather body which is gusseted at the hips and knees. The long, bisque arms are attached separately and are free of damage. The body retains its original scalloped leather collaret, superbly remade costume consists of a two-toned orchid dress with lade and bead trim, with separate lace center panel on skirt. The undergarments are all white antique cotton and lace, the stockings are newer, and the boots are antique brown leather with heels which buttons from the outer sides. She wears what could be her original honey-brown wig parted in the center over the original cork pate.
