SAMUEL NAFEW CAST IRON POKER MACHINE. A fine small compact poker machine circa late 1890s. This device incorporated the life like shuffling and dealing of a poker hand to the prospective player. Depositing a coin and depressing the plunger, the gambler would hope for a royal flush but more than likely he was deal 2 pairs at best. An iron marquee with attached rewards card, the player matching his hand to this card and then requesting the appropriate payout from the saloon keeper. With an electroplate copper finish, this gambling machine is seldom found and would enhance one’s collection. SIZE: 11″ w x 8″ d x 12″ t.
