REMINGTON ROLLING BLOCK NO. 1 DANISH MILITARY RIFLE WITH SHOOTING MEDALS. Cal. 45 Danish CF. SN 36154. Standard military rifle with 35-1/2” rnd bbl, pedestal mounted, barleycorn front sight with saber bayonet mount on right side. It has an 1,800 meter military ladder rear sight with full length forestock, three bands with spring keepers, metal nosecap & slotted head wiping rod. It has straight grip with musket style buttplate & sling loops. Serial number appears on left bbl flat & on bottom of stock. Left bbl flat, sides of receiver, breech block, hammer, forearm & buttstock all have a small crown inspector marks. Right side of buttstock has sixteen silver shooting medals dating from 1872 to 1896 with most being in period 1891-1896. Accompanied by a correct, Danish, saber bayonet with scabbard. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl has blue in very sheltered areas, being mostly a smooth plum/brown patina. Receiver has traces of silvered case colors in sheltered areas, being mostly a mottled, silver/brown patina. Tip of forestock is missing a sliver & there are a couple of hairlines back of bottom tang, otherwise wood is sound and retains a smooth, hand worn patina. Mechanics are fine, very bright shiny bore. Bayonet is fine with a few spots of pitting on left side of blade. Grip panels show moderate to heavy wear. Scabbard is flexed in a couple of places but retains generous amounts of orig finish. Tip has a couple of dents with some light pitting & all metal has been cleaned. 4-60158 JR378 (1,250-1,750)
