MODEL 1879 ARGENTINE REMINGTON ROLLING BLOCK MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 43 Spanish. NSN. One of 20,000 of these rifles especially made for the Argentine military. It has 36” rnd bbl with small octagonal section over chamber. It has square base barleycorn front sight with saber bayonet mount on right side of muzzle and it has a 1,200 yard military ladder rear sight. It also has full length forestock with three bands & slotted head wiping rod. It has straight stock & musket buttplate with sling swivels. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains most of its orig blue with some areas turning plum. There are a couple of scratches above middle band. Receiver & trigger guard retain most of their orig case colors, very slightly faded on receiver, turning silver on trigger bow. Wood is sound with a few minor bruises & a carved “W” on right side of butt with a stamped “M” or “W” on right side of forestock. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 4-60153 JR359 (1,500-2,000)
