J. HARDER BUCK AND BALL SUPERPOSED COMBINATION GUN. Cal. 52 and about 18 bore. 33-1/2” oct superposed bbls with brass blade front sight and fixed rear sight. Marked on top flat “J.HARDER/LOCK HAVEN PA”. Right hammer fires the top bbl and the left hammer, with the long extended nose, fires the lower bbl. Lightly decorated back action locks with brass trigger guard, dbl set triggers with modestly engraved long top tang. Buttstock is “Kentucky Style” with squared cheekpiece that has a German silver bird dog inlay and it has a simple 2-pc patchbox on right side with crescent brass buttplate. There are Hickory ramrods in two iron guides on each side of the bbls. CONDITION: Iron retains a smooth even medium brown patina. Brass, a medium dark mustard patina and the wood is sound retaining most of an old refinish. Mechanics are fine. 4-48930 JR713 (800-1,500)
