REMINGTON NEW YORK PATTERN ROLLING BLOCK TARGET RIFLE. NSN. 50/70 Cal. 36” rnd bbl. Long 3-line marking on the upper tang. The action has the long New York hammer and the safety interlock whereby the hammer falls to the halfcocked position when breechblock is closed. The hammer must be brought to full cock before it can be fired. The target features of this rifle include the Springfield Buffington rear sight, the skeleton buttplate has a rubber insert to reduce recoil on target ranges. Accompanied by an unmarked 22” socket bayonet which is cut for the 0.313” front sight. The bayonet does not have US markings as these were used by New York and other militia units at Creedmore. Very few of these were made. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Darkening casehardening on the action and about half of the blue remaining on the bbl. Wood has normal dents and scratches.
