ENGRAVED DEANE & CO PERCUSSION BOXLOCK PISTOL. Cal. 55. 4-1/8″ octagonal bbl. Marked “DEANE. &. CO . / LONDON.” on top of the brass frame. London proof marks on the lower left quarter flat of the bbl and frame. The buttcap has a lion’s face and appears to be silver-plated. There is a belt hook on the left side of the frame and a captive ramrod in a separate brass rib under the bbl. The frame and hammer are engraved. CONDITION: Gray patina mixed with surface rust and pitting on the bbl. Some corrosion on the ramrod rib. Finely checkered grip has numerous small dents and bruises.
