RARE REMINGTON MODEL 1867 NAVY CADET RIFLE WITH BAYONET. NSN. 50/45 Cal. 32-1/2” rnd bbl. Only 498 of these were made at Springfield Armory using actions furnished by Remington. The rest of the parts were built at Springfield. The pull is only 12-3/8” and the buttplate is correspondingly smaller. Only two bbl bands. Standard early 2-line markings on the upper tang. 16-3/4” narrow triangular blade socket bayonet. Has the issue mark “B / 319” on the top tang of the buttplate. CONDITION: Gray patina overall with areas of light surface rust. Cracks and repairs to the stock near the buttplate with a large area on the right side where something has been removed. Mechanically good. Bayonet retains some bright finish mixed with moderate pitting. (Marcot Collection. 4-60171 FS659 (2,000-3,000)
