*WINCHESTER MODEL 1885 LOW WALL WINDER MUSKET. Cal. 22 Short. SN 138613. Standard musket with 28″ rnd bbl, pedestal mounted front sight, no provision for rear sight & has a right side mounted Lyman receiver sight. Mounted with straight grain American walnut with grasping groove forearm, one band with sling loop & straight stock with musket/carbine buttplate & a sling loop on bottom. CONDITION: About very good. No orig finish remains being a mottled blue/brown patina on bbl & band with receiver a mottled silver/brown patina. Forestock has a crack on left side at receiver, otherwise wood is sound & retains about 75% orig finish under a dark oil stained surface. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore with some light pitting just in front of chamber. 4-57887 JR457 (500-1,000)
